The original 50-minute version of the documentary was premiered in April of 2012. A crowd of over 300 people gathered in the Atkins Auditorium at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art to view the film. Following the film was a 45-minute panel discussion on the issues presented within the documentary. The panel included, left to right:

- Kansas City, MO Mayor Sly James;
- Sister Berta, co-founder of Operation Breakthrough;
- Father Paisius, leader of Reconciliation Services;
- Carol Grimaldi, director of Brush Creek Community Partners;
- Rodney Knott; director of ReEngage, Inc. and founder of The Man Class;
- Molly Fleming-Pierre, Policy and Development Director of Communities Creating Opportunity; and
- Anita Maltbia, director of the Green Impact Zone
